Shawn Harvey 

Shawn is a native to Huron and if elected, his top priorities would be the well-being of other community members, continuation of community growth, and constantly pushing for community improvement. Shawn believes in an honest approach to everything. Being transparent in all he does and constantly striving for better, whether that be in real estate, on the boards he serves, or on the city commission. Shawn also takes things into a personal level of consideration with everything he does. If things don’t feel right, they probably aren’t. He believes in doing what’s right, not only for him but for everybody that is involved or affected. If elected, Shawn is always open to hearing from each and every community member as to what their thoughts and concerns are and taking them all into consideration in day-to-day actions.

Shawn has been in real estate since 2016 and an owner of Montgomery Real Estate since 2017. He currently sits on the Huron Chamber & Visitors Bureau Board of Directors, The Huron Board of Realtors Board of Directors, The South Dakota Realtors Board of Directors, The City Planning Commission, and serves as a Chamber Ambassador. He has held many officer and board positions over the past several years.

Shawn is married to Amber Harvey and has two children, Ryan being the eldest & Kara the youngest. The family enjoys spending time together outdoors and camping in the summers. He has lived in Huron his whole life and knows the town well.
